Your data stays on this device by default
Puzzle texts are saved in this browser's local storage. By default they are never uploaded, no account is needed, and nothing tracks you. Clearing your browser data will remove them, so use Export JSON in the ⋮ menu to back them up. Optionally, the cloud button lets you sync them to your other devices: they are end-to-end encrypted on this device first, so we can never read them.
What you can keep here
Anything text-based that you want handy on every page: ciphertexts, recovered keys, custom alphabets, intermediate decodings, GC or TB codes, coordinates, hint translations, your own scratch notes. Up to ~5 MB total per browser.
Text only: copy-pasteable characters, in any language or alphabet. Binary files like .gwc Wherigo cartridges, images, PDFs, or audio cannot be stored here. JSON snippets work fine as text, but use the ⋮ menu's Import JSON if you want to restore a notes backup file.
How to use it
- Click + New to start a note. Edits autosave to this browser.
- On any tool page, click into the field you want to paste into, then open this drawer and press Insert into active field.
- Or press Pick a field… to choose a target from a list of inputs on the page.
- Drag the ⋮⋮ handle on the left of a row to reorder.
- Use the ⋮ menu for Export JSON (backup) and Import JSON (restore or move between browsers).
Your notes are locked
Enter your passphrase to unlock them on this device. They stay encrypted on disk until you do.
