Code and Coordinate Extractor

Pull every GC code, TB code, and coordinate out of any text, GPX, JSON, KML, or web page.

Paste anything that contains geocache data, raw text, a web page's HTML, a GPX file, a JSON export, or a KML file, and this tool pulls out every GC code (geocaches), TB code (trackables), and coordinate it can find. Results are deduplicated and sorted into separate lists. Each box is editable, so you can tidy a list before copying. Drop the GC and TB lists into a geocaching.com bookmark list or a Project-GC virtual GPS, and feed the coordinates straight into the Coordinate Converter.

Strict matching only accepts the real geocaching alphabet (it skips I L O S U) to avoid false hits in prose. Coordinates are always range checked.

Geocache codes (GC)

Trackable codes (TB)

Coordinates

UTM, MGRS, Mercator, and both Reverse Wherigo styles are only picked up when they sit on a line by themselves, and only if they decode to a real location.

Paste these into the Batch Coordinate Converter to convert formats, map them, or build a route.

Paste the comma separated GC list into a geocaching.com bookmark list (Add caches by code) or a Project-GC virtual GPS. Adding caches to a list automatically would need the Groundspeak API, which is approval only, so this tool prepares the list for you to paste.

Extractor Bookmarklet

Drag the link below to your bookmarks bar. Then on any web page (a bookmark list, a forum thread, a cache listing) just click it to pull every GC code, TB code, and coordinate from the whole page into this tool. If you have some text highlighted, it uses only your selection.
